The Heart of Christmas: Decorating with Love and Joy
| Kara Webster
There’s something magical about the holiday season, isn’t there? As the days grow colder and the nights twinkle with lights, I find myself drawn to the warmth and nostalgia of decorating. For me, it’s not just about the wreaths on the door, the tree in the corner, or the mantle glowing with garlands. It’s about creating a space where love, joy, and togetherness can thrive.
Let me share a little about how I like to decorate for Christmas and the "why" behind it...
Some of my best childhood memories are moments and feelings from Christmas. My mother made every room of the house whimsical with her Annalee dolls, 2 Christmas trees (one in the fancy living room that we couldn't touch🤣) along with lots of fun and festive decorations. We even had tinsel-so pretty but so messy!
When I decorate for Christmas, I’m not just trying to make my home look pretty, I'm trying to emulate that same feeling for my family. I’m setting the stage for laughter, for quiet moments by the fire, for the kind of memories that stay with us long after the decorations come down.
Whether you go all out with glitter and glam or keep it simple with a few sprigs of greenery, I hope your decorations bring you as much joy as mine bring me. After all, it’s not about how perfect your tree is or how fancy your wreath looks—it’s about the love you pour into your space and the people who get to share it with you.
So, this Christmas, let’s decorate with our hearts. Let’s fill our homes with laughter and warmth, and let’s make this season one to remember.
Merry Christmas, from my family to yours.
🎄❤️Kara
